Since SACNAF (previously HdN) was founded in 1997 and officially opened in 1999, we have invited distinguished writers, academics and scientists from the Netherlands and Flanders to the Huis der Nederlanden to give talks about their work and on Dutch and Flemish culture.

Participants have included:

-The celebrated Dutch poet Gerrit Komrij
- Afrikaans book editor Gerrit Brand 
- Flemish writer Annelies Verbeke
- Modern Dutch poet Menno Wigman

SACNAF is committed to presenting speakers who inspire and challenge our audience with new ideas about the Low Countries, and to provide a platform for the discussion of culture, art and socio-political issues.
